China and the world have changed tremendously since the Founding of the People's Republic in 1949. The revolutionary generation has been replaced by the new generation who has their own dreams and goals. The gaps between coastal areas and western regions in China have also largely increased. Tibetan society is experiencing the new process of transition. The most important for scholars to study the changing face of Tibet should be based our analyses on in-depth field survey and listening to the people. At the same time, the lessons from our ancestors and other countries in dealing with ethnic relations. That is the way to understand the people and the right policy to promote national unity as well as prosperity of all groups.
