Investigation of Cold Damage to Rubber Tree Roots at the Germplasm Collection in the South Subtropical Crops Research Institute in 2008

采用根段统计,Χ2测验法分析发现,20cm以下较深土层中根的受害程度明显轻于较浅土层中的。地上部分寒害级别相同的同一品系,不同砧木的根受寒害程度差异显著。1～3级寒害树中,直径大于等于0.25cm的根段的死亡率差异不显著。3级寒害树细根根段死亡率极显著高于2级寒害树的。本次调查结果对橡胶树寒害后处理、高产抗寒品种推广应用及其抗寒力保持等方面具有参考价值。

Roots of rubber trees （Hevea brasiliensis）suffering cold damages at the germplasm collection in the South Subtropical Crops Research Institute were collected in 2008 and then categorized for analysis of their cold injury severities in different soil layers. A ehi-square test was conducted. Results showed that the roots in the soil below 20 cm suffered less cold damage than in the shallower soil. Cold damages varied significantly in the roots of various rootstocks of the same clone suffering the same severity of cold injury. There were no significant differences in mortality rate of root segments larger than or equal to 0.25 cm in diameter among the trees suffering cold injury in the severity scales from 1 - 3. However, the rubber trees suffering cold injury severity at scale 3 had highly significantly higher mortality rate in smaller root segments than those suffering cold injury severity at scale 2. This investigation provides some reference to the cold disaster management of rubber trees, utilization of clones with high yield and cold tolerance, and retention of cold tolerance of rubber clones.
