杭嘉湖与苏州接壤,是海盐腔的故里,是昆曲的重镇。昆曲渊源甚深。杭嘉湖文人荟萃,昆曲爱好者甚众,组织曲社、交流心得成了他们日常生活的重要部分。一时间,曲社遍布,曲家辈出。他们与专业昆班各占半爿天,为昆曲的生存与发展立下汗马功劳。

Hangzhou, Jiaxing and Huzhou border Suzhou, being the cradle of Haiyan tone and important areas of kunqu with a long history. There are a lot of renowned scholars here as well as many kunqu lovers. They organize kunqu troupes and exchange ideas as an important part of their daily lives. There is a time when kunqu troupes and masters come forth in large numbers. They and professional troupes respectively account for a half of the kunqu world and contribute a lot for the survival and development of kunqu.
