马旭初先生是明清建筑世家兴隆马家的第十四代传人。在马老的营造生涯中,他曾经受业于梁思成、林徽因等前辈学者;见证了营造学社的早期活动;参与过一系列京城古建的改造与保护。他本人丰富的经历,也是一段历史的写照。
Ma Xuchu is the 14th generation of the Xinglong Ma＇s family, an architectural aristocratic family from Ming Dynasty. He was a student of the masters, such as Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin. He is a testimony of Society for the Study of Chinese Architecture. He has played some important role in repairing ancient architecture in Beijing. His own experience is a fortune of history.
