摘要
典籍的翻译对弘扬中华文化具有举足轻重的意义。《道德经》是我国古代典籍的典型代表,以前人们更多的是从语言和文化的角度讨论其译本。意象既是语言研究的对象,又是哲学研究的对象。古今中外人们对言、意、象的追问和思考从来没有间断过。随着当今多门学科的交叉与渗透,人们对语言与意象的认识已经有了很大的发展。梳理和总结文学意义的构成和古今中外对意象的不同理解,并结合《道德经》的英译本探讨中西意象转换的文化差异问题,以揭示意象在典籍翻译中的重要意义。
The translation of Chinese classics plays a major role in popularizing the Chinese culture in the rest of the world. The translation of Daode Jing, a representative Chinese classic, has been under intensive and extensive discussion, but more often than not, from the linguistic and cultural perspective. Image is the research object of both linguistics and philosophy. And sustained relevant probes home and abroad trace back far in time. With inter-disciplinary investigations, people have ＇achieved in-depth insights of language and image. This paper combs and summarizes the various understandings of literary meaning and image, discusses the fundamentals of imagery conversion with the translations of Daode Jing as an example, and reveals the importance of imagery conversion in the translation of classics.
