英汉深层回指的浅析与释义

A Tentative Analysis of Deep Anaphora and its Interpretation in English and Chinese

深层回指不同于表层回指,其回指项由语境和语用因素控制,在句法范围内无法解决,需要结合认知语境进行语用推理才能确认深层回指式中回指词的所指。对三种深层回指分别进行了解释,分析了英汉两种语言在使用回指时的偏重,并从认知的角度出发,指出关联对于深层回指的释义起着指导性的作用。

Deep anaphora is different from surface anaphora. Being restricted by context and pragmatic factors, deep anaphora can not be easily interpreted within the scope of syntax. Rather,the antecedent of a deep anaphora should be identified through a pragmatic inference from the cognitive environment. This paper is dedicated to explain three kinds of deep anaphora respectively and analyzes the preference when they are used in English and Chinese. From the cognitive point of view, the author also proposes that relevance plays a guiding role in the interpretation of deep anaphora.
