2009年4月，G20伦敦峰会在国际金融危机蔓延和全球经济下滑的情势下召开，成果显著、意义深远。除会议达成的全球经济刺激方案对于克服全球金融危机具有重要作用外．发展中国家新型经济体的话语权受到重视，预示建立世界经济新秩序的序幕已经拉开。会议凸显中国角色，中国努力承担维护世界经济稳定发展的“大国责任”形象备受注目。然而，峰会的局限性也是明显的，而且一两次峰会也不可彻底扭转全球性的经济衰退。

The G20 London Summit was held in April, 2009 at a time when international financial crisis was spreading quickly and global economic conditions went downhill. The Summit meeting, however, was crowned with success and had a far-reaching significance. Except for the agreement at the meeting on a series of global economic stimulus plans which may possibly play an important part in resolving the crisis, the say by the newly-emerging economies of the developing countries has been given due attention, indicating the staging of a prelude for a new international economic order. At the meeting China was given due prominence and China’s image of a 'responsible big power' in maintaining world economic stability and growth has also won enough attention. However, it is obvious that the meeting has its limitations as well and one or two meetings of this kind can hardly reverse the course of global economic recession.
