Biothennica Technologies is currently implementing the first ever VAM oxidation project at an active underground coal mine in the USA. The primary goal of this project is to demonstrate that the VAMOX^TM system can safely, efficiently and reliably destroy VAM while generating a revenue stream from the sale of carbon credits. The project activity is expected to achieve net additional emission reductions of 44,000 tCO2e every year. The carbon credits will be validated and verified in accordance with the Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS). The VAMOX^TM system uses the principle of regenerative thermal oxidation to convert methane into harmless by-products. The maximum capacity of a single VAMOX^TM system is 170 , 000 m^3/h and it can operate at a methane concentration between 0.2% and 1.2%. The VAMOX^TM system is poised to open the doors to new source revenue for underground coal mines around the world.
