This paper introduces the general situation of information literacy education in China and foreign countries, analyzes the superiorities of university library in the users＇ information literacy cultivation, and expounds three methods for carrying out the information literacy cultivation by university library： the teaching of literature retrieval course, the lecture and the reading guidance course for freshmen.
