Deleting the dietary mineral premix in late finishing pigs Would not affect growth performance, carcass traits and pork quality, at the same time it can decrease feed cost, fecal mineral content, environmental pollution. Omitting the dietary mineral premix before slaughter was secure, uncontaminated, lower cost and high benefit breeding practice. The article reviewed the effect of removing mineral premix from the diet of pre-slaughter pigs on growth performance, carcass characteristics, mineral metabolism in tissues, and fecal mineral excretion in order to provick a basis for application and popularization.
