An experiment was conducted to study the activities changes of superoxide dismutase ( SOD), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH) and esterase (EST) in Rana amurensis liver under low temperature. Results showed that the activities of SOD, LDH-1, and EST in R. amurensis liver at 1 degrees C were significantly higher than those of the liver at room temperature, but the total enzyme activity of LDH, G6PDH, and EST of the two groups were similar. The activities of some enzymes in R. amurensis liver increased to maintain a stable energy metabolism in order to survive under low temperatures.
