New Explanations to ICD-10 Coding Standard for HIV/AIDS Clinical Stages and Coding Principle for its Complications

目的指导编码员明晰编码原则,正确匹配编码以提高临床编码实操性及该病种的编码质量。方法按照艾滋病临床分期的顺序并结合常见错误编码举例,遴选各阶段编码并论证选择标准及并发症的编码准则。结果给出艾滋病各临床分期的详尽编码构成。结论鉴于WHO并未发布编码指导,疾病分类合作中心有必要诠释细则,研究并提出各阶段编码方案。

Objective To guide coders to understand ICD-10 coding rules and make a correct match so as to improve the operability and coding quality. Methods According to each clinical stage of the HIV infection and the examples of usual errors, well-matched codes were selected and the choosing standards and the coding principle for its complications were elucidated by demonstration. Results The elaborate coding compositions for each phase were put forward. Conclusion Given the fact that WHO had not issued instructions of this part,it was necessary for Chinese Collaborating Centre for the Classification of Diseases to propose details of the rules and to study and provide a thorough coding scheme.
