In the ceremony of the 29th Olympics in Beijing, one of the program is the performance of the stringed-instrument playing. And this paper talks about the development and history of the Guqin civilization, which has a great importance and role in the Chinese culture and history by introducing the formation and the idea of Guqin, the progressing of the melody system of it and the famous Guqin player, the tune, the method of scoring and relative works in the main time period of China. All these prove Guqin culture to be the representative of the most characterized Chinese traditional culture.
