本文提出了一种改进的分形图像编码的方法，此方法通过在dormain缓冲区中舍弃那些在分形编码中用不到的domain单元，形成有效的domain缓冲区来加速编码过程，并和自适应四叉树划分的方法结合起来，提高图像压缩质量．

This paper presents an improvement on fractal image coding by discardingfrom the domain buffer those domain units unnecessary in fractal coding but retainingonly the effective ones so as to acccleratc thc process of cncoding and, in combinationwith the method of self-adaptive quadtree decomposition, to improve on the quality ofimage compression.
