从英语口语交际中的文化错误看文化与翻译教学

On Culture and Translation Teaching Based on Analysis of Cultural Errors in Oral Communication

语言形式一直是大学英语教学的重点,然而在英语口语交际中,跨文化的错误比跨语言的错误更能引起交际障碍和误会。学生口语交际中常出现的文化错误表明:口语交际过程离不开翻译,翻译不仅是语言形式的转换,更是文化的移植。导致口语交际中错误的原因是多方面的,解决的途径之一是课堂中应重视文化教学和翻译教学。

The focus of college English teaching has been put on language itself. However, cultural errors are more likely to cause crash and misunderstanding in oral communication than errors resulting from wrong grammar. The analysis of examples in this paper indi- cates that oral conununicafion can＇ t be performed without translation, and translation of culture is no less important than that of letters. There are various reasons leading to cultural errors in oral communication, and one of the measures to solve the problem is that great consideration should be given to the culture factors and translation in our college English teaching.
