Based on Wittgenstein＇ s Theory of Language Game, this article explores the language game in Hemingway＇ s ＂A Clean, Well-lighted Place＂ with the focus on the ingenious use of words like nothing/nada, everything and a clean, well-lighted place so as to reveal the underlying philosophy of life and social significance of the story.
