The Sound of Spring is a representative work of ＂the stream of consciousness＂ novel series of the Chinese writer Wang Meng. The novel depicted what the his way home to visit his relatives by a carriage-sealed protagonist had seen, heard, contemplated and felt on train. The novel outlined the decades of changes and fluctuations in China, the emotional movements of the protagonist and the subjective feelings of him. The novel chimed out the ＂sound of spring＂ of the new era, outlined a pictorial vista in which all things take on a new aspect, and foretold the arrival of ＂spring＂.
