Zhang shouyong initiates a modern management and new school model into higher education, through practicing Yangming theory in the various activities held in Guanghua University. He advocates such a fresh educational philosophy and personally practices it to make possible that Guanghua University gradually features the Zhedong spirits of innovation, pragmatism and truth - seeking. Such great characteristics as morality, honesty and unity of knowledge and practice are well employed in Guahua University that it has been listed as one of the best private institutes of higher learning in Shanghai. As for such recent issues as ＂the spirits and responsibilities in the college＂ and ＂the value of the college＂, Zhang shouyong＇s thoughts and practices hold a far- reaching historical and practical significance.
