英国学者Brown和Levinson在1978年发表了一篇题为《语言使用中的普遍性:礼貌现象》的文章,提出了"面子保全论"。话剧《雷雨》中的大量对白无不投射出"面子保全论",无论是威胁说话人自己的面子,亦或是对方的面子,都让我们深刻体会到"面子保全论"在《雷雨》中的运用。本文从积极的礼貌策略、消极的礼貌策略、公开的毫不隐讳的威胁面子行为以及隐晦的委婉的礼貌语言手段四个方面分析了"面子保全论"在《雷雨》中的运用,由此可知面子保全论有利于平时的交际,以便积累丰富的语言知识。

An article with the topic Universals in language Usage： Politeness Phenomena was published in 1978 by Britain scholars Brown and Levinson,in which the Face-saving Theory was put forward. Lots of dialogues in the drama Thunderstorm reflect the Face-saving Theory. It shows us the usage of Face-saving Theory in Thunderstorm whether intimidating the face of the talker themselves or the counterparts. The usage of Face-saving Theory in Thunderstorm is analyzed in four facets, which are positive polite policy, negative polite policy, acts of open intimidating and dark intimidating face in this paper. And it＇s concluded that the usage of Face-saving Theory has the advantage of promoting communication and accumulating the knowledge of language.
