Further Analysis of the Choice of Text from the Translator's Subjectivity

译者主体性就是指译者在翻译活动中所表现出的主体意识和主观能动性。林语堂正是在其主体意识的支配下,合理地发挥了自己的主观能动性而选择《浮生六记》为文本。从其人生经历、性格特点、生活观念、文化理想和审美观点等多个角度去探索,可以更好地理解和阐释译者和文本的关系,同时也可以更好地理解整个翻译活动。

The translator＇s subjectivity refers to the translator＇s subjective consciousness and subjective initiative manifested in the translational activity. The translator＇s subjective consciousness can not be excluded from the scope of the translator＇ s subjectivity. It is under the government of his subjective consciousness that Lin Yutang exerts his subjective initiative to choose Six Chapters of a Floating Life as his text. In a word, to make an analysis of the choice of text from the angle of the translator＇s subjectivity, we can explore the relationship between the translator and the text from the translator＇s personal experience, characteristics, life attitudes, cultural ideal and aesthetic conceptions, and then have a better understanding of the whole translational activity.
