摘要
在外语教学领域,元语言在一些学者眼中是没有"实用"价值的。但实际上,无论是谁,无论谈论任何问题,都离不开语言的指涉性用法。通过在语法词汇层面上的编码,元语言作为一种符号系统参与交际活动,有助于在目的语语境下完成师生间的课堂话语交际。作为话语交际工具,元语言具有双重作用:作为过渡性语言有助于师生间的话语交际,作为辅助性语言可以帮助学生理解词语、语言现象及语法规则。
In the field of foreign linguistic study, metalanguage is of no practical use in some scholar's opinions. However, this is not the case. Metalanguage, as a kind of signal system, takes part in communicative activities through coding on the level of grammar and vocabulary, which is helpful to conduct the communication between students and teachers on the background of the target language. As a tool of communication, metalanguage has double functions: it facilitates communication between students and teaches as a kind of transitional language, and it helps students understand vocabulary and grammatical rules.
