Scott Slovic is one of the leading promoters ciplinary Studies in Literature and Environment (ISLE of American eco-criticism, editing Interdis- ). From October 2006 to March 2007, I worked in University of Nevada at Rino as a visiting scholar, and kept in close contact with Prof. Slovic. This very exchange became the starting point of the translation project of Going away to Think, in which Slovic displays his environmentalism via eloquent and emotional articulation. The process of my translating the work is also one during which Slovic and I wrote to each other and exchanged ideas, which constitutes the fundamental part of this interview. With attempt to merge our visual spheres as an author and his translator, this interview can be considered as a construc- tive Sino-American eco-critical dialogue.
