This paper aimed to explain the relationship of individual variable and safety cognition of miner. A set of 38 safety-related issues which selected from safety climate survey scale (SCSS)were utilized, 180 copies questionaie were issued in a certain coalmine, and 137 valid were recovered. The relation for safety cognition and individual variable such as accident experience, age, seniority, education, position and others were analyzed. It showed that the safety staff overall cognition level were higher than production department( Sig. = 0. 006) , and the safety cogni- tion increased with the growing of age, seniority(Sig. = 0. 050, 0. 017, resp. ) , the attitudes of work injurie-free staffs were positive than injuries-related also. But education, duty and so on do not reach significant degree (Sig. = 0. 566, 0. 067, resp. ). Those relations would contribute to further research.
