Pragmatic Inference of English News Ideology——From the Perspective of Relevance Theory

新闻语篇因其所包含的意识形态历来备受关注。目前,进行新闻意识形态分析主要有两种方法:一为批评性语篇分析法,二为评价理论,但能较为系统地对新闻意识形态进行语用推理者并不多见。本文在Sperber & Wilson的关联理论基础上,提出了明示刺激信号,显性和隐性交际形式两个角度来对英语新闻的意识形态进行系统的语用推理,并以此探索新闻意识形态传播过程是如何具体运作的。

News discourse has always received concern with regard to its ideological nature. At present, there are two major methods to conduct news ideology analysis-critical discourse analysis and appraisal theory. But there is rare systematic pragmatic analysis of news ideology. Based on relevance theory put forward by Sperber and Wilson, the paper makes a pragmatic inference of English news ideology in a systematic way from two aspects： ostensive stimulus, overt and covert communication and explores how the process of news ideology propaganda operates.
