Sign Culture in City Design

Sign在现代社会里扮演的角色越来越重要,它在一定程度上改变了人们的生活方式。不同的Sign是在一定历史发展阶段形成的,在这期间它们一直发挥着展示辉煌历史的功能。文化决定着Sign的发展方向。由于各地文化特色的不同,几经转变,Sign变成了千百种各有地方特色的"语言"。部分的联合,变成全体;全体的分化,变成了多种形式。文化的表现使Sign有了特色,视觉张力得到了更大的再现,使人与物的交流更加方便快捷,同时也揭示了社会的进步。

Sign plays an increasingly important role in modern society. It has changed people＇s lifestyle to a certain extent. Different signs take shape in different historical stages, and exhibit the brilliance of the historical stages in which they are formed. Culture determines the direction of sign development. Signs have been transformed into hundreds of thousands of ＂languages＂ with local characteristics by the cultural characteristics of different places. Some signs unite and become a whole; some break up and turn into varied forms. Culture gives signs characteristics, magnifies the visual tension of signs, facilitates the communication between human beings and objects, and signifies the progress of society.
