施特劳斯在中国学界引起巨大反响,其言述已然参与重述中国问题的多元格局。本文旨在剖析共和理念的内在歧义性,以便具体呈现施特劳斯对文明原则的艰难思索。作者指出,古今之争与文明自觉密不可分,复兴古典共和主义乃是未来学人的全球性历史使命。
Leo Strauss has become a big hit in Chinese intellectual circle, and his discourse has been incorporated in the pluralistic reformulations of the problem of China. By sorting out the diversified meanings of the idea of republic, this essay aims to reveal Strauss＇ painstaking reflections on the principles of civilization. This author maintains that the debate between the traditional and the modern is inextricably connected with the self-consciousness of civilization, and that the revival of classical republicanism will be a global historic mission for future scholars.
