大学英语分级教学模式的改革新探——按技能分级学习、按模块分层上台阶 被引量:136

摘要 当前综合性大学的英语教学面临着一大难题:学生水平参差不齐,分级教学究竟如何开展才能提高教学效率和教学质量?本文回顾了大学英语分级教学的相关研究和现有的分级教学模式,分析了目前广泛采用的以学生入学分级考试总分为标准的分级教学模式的弊端。在此基础上,文章提出了解决难题的方案:构建“按技能分级学习”的教学模式,即依据听、读两项技能的分数,将学生分为“听说”初、中、高和“读写”初、中、高各三个级别来组织教学。文章最后指出,该分级教学模式的实施将有效克服依据总分分级教学的局限性,实现按技能分级学习、按模块分层上台阶的英语分级教学的预期目标。 Currently one of the biggest challenges facing comprehensive universities is how to improve efficiency and quality in teaching English to students of varying levels of English proficiency. This paper gives a review of literature concerning Level-based English Teaching. It analyzes the weaknesses of the current teaching model ,which categorizes students based on the total scores of the English placement test. Then it proposes a new model, which divides students into three groups based on the listening skill and three groups based on the reading skill. In other words, according to their listening scores, students are put into three groups of primary, medium and advanced levels. The teaching of listening and speaking is based on these levels. Likewise, the teaching of reading and writing is based on the levels of students' reading skill. The paper concludes that the new model will effectively overcome the limitations of the current model and reach the goal of Level-based Teaching, which is to conduct teaching based on students' different levels and develop various skills step by step respectively.
