With the transformation of govemmentaf bodies in the new era from administration-oriented to service-oriented nstitutions, some new trends are also reflected in the design of government office buildings. Having made some analyses on these charactenstics and trends based on some government office buildings recently designed by Section 4 of BIAD, this article mainly introduces how to integrate practicality,, comfort, people-friendliness, demonstration and economic efficiency and environment friendliness, intelligent development and investment control into the functional design of an office building and how to present to the citizens, in the architectural design of an office building, a healthy image of a government that works hard for the people and pursues economic efficiency andpracticatily
