Objective To estimated the urban residents' income related health inequalities in China and the influencing factors. Methods The 2006 data from the China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS) were taken to calculate the health concentration index of urban residents, and the influencing extent of each factor was analyzed. Results The majority of the health concentration indexes of urban residents were minus, and with a statistic significance at the level of P = 0. 05, with those in Liaoning and Shandong provinces being evident. The logarithm value of regional income median and the Gini coefficient were correlated with the income - related health inequalities ( P 〈 0. 01 ). The regression coefficients of residents' income level and logarithm value of annual income were of no statistic significance at the level ofP = 0. 01 ( P 〉 0.05 ). Conclusion Provinces of Liaoning and Shandong are highest in health inequality, while province of Hubei is lowest. The condition of regionally economic development and income equality are the important factors for the income related health inequality.
