Practical Application of Low Toxic Oil Based Mud

西江24—3—A14大位移井的摩阻与扭矩、井眼稳定性及井眼清洁是钻井成功与否的关键因素。该井选用了Versa Clean低毒性油基钻井液及高效率的固控设施。该钻井液具有润滑性好,对泥岩抑制性强,滤失性好,在低剪率下具有较高黏度等特点,对该井的钻井成功起到了关键的作用。文中介绍该钻井液的配方和使用该钻井液在降低摩阻与扭矩、保持井眼稳定性和井眼清洁方面的措施和体会。

Wellbore stability, hole cleaning, toque and drag are key factors in extended reach well drilling of Xijiang 24 - 3 - A14. Low toxic oil based mud (versaclean system) which provided excellent lubricity, filtration, inhibition characteristics and highly rheologi-cal property at low shear rates was selected with efficient solids control equipment to drill A14 well. This paper introduces the formulation of this mud system and represents procedures and experience of using this mud system for maintaining well bore stability, hole cleaning and reducing toque and drag.
