汉语人名的英译及其规范化

On C-E Translation of Chinese Names and Its Standardization

汉语人名的英译一直存在着较为严重的混乱现象,这主要由不同的注音法、姓和名顺序不统一、大小写不统一、采用中英文结合及方言的译法等原因造成。文章建议应尽快制定相关法律,规定汉语拼音为汉语姓名英译的唯一标准,保留姓在前、名在后的中国姓名特色,规范统一字母的大小写,取消方言拼法,尽早结束汉语姓名翻译的混乱现象。

There has been much confusion in the C - E translation of Chinese names, which is mainly caused by different ways in spelling Chinese names, transposing surnames and given names, nonstandard in using capital letters and so on. This paper suggests that the relevant laws should be formulated, regulating the Romanization of Chinese names, such as stipulating Chinese phonetic alphabet as the only standard, keeping the Chinese tradition of putting surnames before given names, standardizing the using of capital letters, prohibiting using dialect and etc. Only in this way can the confusion in Romanizing Chinese names be ended earlier.
