Comparing the pieces of patriotic Ci （ a most popular poetry genre in Song Dynasty） of Northern Song Dynasty with those of Southern Song Dynasty, the author tries to reveal the different features-the pieces of patriotic Ci of Northern Song Dynasty mostly extol the beauty of the country while those of Southern Song Dynasty are mainly gloomy and sad. Both, however, are soul touching and magnificent despite their different styles.
