With about 100,000 employees and 330 producing bases in 30 countries BASF serve customers and partners of the world. 30 years ago, BASF brought forward Responsible Care and appealed for Protection of Environment. In 2001, BASF set up Global sustainable development Direction Committee, which claimed that environment protection and social responsibility must be taken into account when developing economy. Johnny C.W. Kwan, Senior Vice President of BASF global and Chairman of the Greater China Country Board and President,BASF（China） Co,Ltd, said that BASF would try to improve 25% energy efficiency and decrease 25% Greenhouse Gas Emission to 2020 compared with the year 2002.
