由他担任总导演的大型电视连续剧《闯关东》红遍大江南北，在第七届金鹰电视艺术节上力压群雄，一举囊括七项大奖；在山东省的首届“泰山文艺奖”上，张新建荣获艺术突出贡献奖，电视剧《闯关东》则获得特别荣誉奖；中共山东省委、省政府表彰张新建荣立二等功。
In 2008, Zhang Jianxin reaped the harvest of his energetic work.
The TV series he directed,Migrating to the Northeast, was popular in China and won seven prizes at the Seventh Golden Hawk TV Art Festival. At the first ＂Taishan Art Award＂ of Shandong Province, Zhang Jianxin was awarded the prize for a special contribution. The TV series Migrating to the Northeast was granted the special honorary prize. The CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and the Provincial Government of Shandong cited Zhang Xinjian and granted him the merit citation class Ⅱ.
