非英语专业大学生跨文化交际能力现状分析

Analysis on Current Status of Cross-Cultural Communication Capabilities of Non-English Major College Students

针对非英语专业大学生的英语跨文化交际能力仍然比较薄弱的情况,我们进行了一次全面的问卷调查,调查的重点是与文化因素密切相关的内容,结果显示学生在所有七方面均不同程度地存在着问题。我们建议大学英语教学中,教学重点不应放在应付考试上,而应帮助学生认识这些问题,增强他们了解英语国家文化的意识,全面提高他们的跨文化交际能力。

In view of the still weak cross-cultural communication capabilities of non-English major college students, we conducted a comprehensive questionnaire, focusing on contents closely related to cultural elements. The results show that there exist problems with students in all the seven areas. We recommend that college English teaching should not be focused on dealing with examinations but on helping students recognize these problems, strengthening their consciousness of understanding cultures of English-speaking countries, and comprehensively improving their cross-cultural communication capabilities.
