Believe that, Chinese intellectuals arose in social crisis, acquired western culture, and also incorporated traditional ideas. For save the nation from extinction, they kept independence thinking and critical spirit without compromise on critique of nation, culture and national nature according to establishment of public sphere. Conflict and merge of culture from western and eastera, modem and traditional has formed the Chinese intellectuals＇ spirit.
