The Evolution of Female Images in Fictions of Song Dynasty

女性题材是宋代传奇中的主要内容之一。就题材而言,宋代传奇中的女性形象大体上可以分为三大类型:历史上的后妃、名姬;虚幻世界中的女妖、女仙、女鬼;现实生活中的各色女子。由于作家队伍和社会风气的变化,宋代传奇在女性形象塑造方面出现了一些新的特点,主要表现为:切近现实生活,带有明显的世俗化倾向;主题的伦理化和浓重的道学气。

The subject of women was one of the major topics in the fictions of Song Dynasty. In terms of the subject matter, the images of women in such fictions can be generally classified into three types： famous eoneubines and ladies along history, female spirits and ghosts in illusory land, and various women in real life. With the change in the writer groups and the social fashion, the characterization of the females was more close to the real life, more distinctively popularized, and more concerned with Confucianism as well as affectedly moralistic.
