摘要
科学研究的分类模型是制定科学政策的理论基础。V.布什1945年提出的一维模型在理论上割裂了基础研究与国家目标之间的直接联系。司托克斯以"认识"和"应用"维度构建的二维模型,将基础研究与国家目标融合于巴斯德象限中从而改进了布什的一维模型。然而,仅用两个维度来划分科学研究的类型仍不够充分,需要增加一个"学科"维度,将其扩展为三维模型。
The classification model of scientific research is a theoretic base for science policy making. The linear model proposed in 1945 by V. Bush theoretically dissevered the direct relationship between national goals and basic research. By establishing a model with two dimensions of understanding and use, Donald E. Stokes combined basic research and national goals into the so called Pasteur' s Quadrant. However, classifying scientific research by these two dimensions only is not sufficient. It is necessary to develop his model to a 3 - dimensional one by adding one more dimension of discipline.
