The models with carrier fluid are one of ways to describe the phenomenon of liquid-solid mixture flow in a pipeline. A carrier fluid is composed of water (or other liquid) and fine particles. Coarse grain solids are transported in this carrier liquid containing suspended fine particles. In this paper the pressure drops calculated from the models of Weber, Richter, Voeadlo-Charles, silin et al., Hydromechanics Institute in Kiev and of the present author are analysed. These models can be divided into two groups. The first are the models of constant grain diameter by which the solids are divided into fine and coarse. The second are the models in which dividing diameter varies with velocity of mixture. Pressure drops calculated from the models were compared with the experimental results for flow of tailings, copper concentrate, sand and coal.
