The Necessity and Advantage of ESP in Vocational Schools

As a practical approach with special objects and vocational purposes , ESP （English for Specific Purposes） is now becoming the mainstream of English teaching in West China＇ s vocational schools. The paper proposes that it is necessary to teach ESP in vocational schools and that ESP may help students set up a good circle of learning process. The form of the good circle will , in return , develop students ＂ autonomous learning ability.
