早期进入拉萨的美国人历史探析

摘要 美国对中国西藏的了解始于上个世纪初,先期入藏并进入拉萨的几位美国人对此做出了特别贡献。麦戈文是第一位进入拉萨并与达赖喇嘛相见的美国人;隋丹.卡廷是继麦戈文之后第二位进入拉萨的美国人,而且第二次进入拉萨是与妻子(H.Cutting)同行,他的妻子成为第一位进入拉萨的美国妇女;伯纳德是第一位到达拉萨的白人喇嘛,也是继卡廷之后第三位到达拉萨的美国人。
