MAPK signal transduction pathway is an important signaling system which induces cellular reaction by transducing extracellular signals into cell in eukaryotic cells. It is involved in the modulation of many life activities, such as cell proliferation, differentiation, transformation, apoptosis, and cell synchronization through the influence of gene transcription and regulation. As an independent risk factor of many diseases, obesity is becoming a serious threat to human health. Investigations of adipose cell differentiation and its regulation mechanisms are significant to the prevention and treatment of related diseases. MAPK signal transduction pathway plays an important role in adipose cell differentiation. And ERK1/2, JNK and p38 MAPK pathways participate in the regulation of every link of adipose cell differentiation through their independent roles and complicated coordination, with the regulatory diversity.
