1978年12月,党的十一届三中全会召开后,中国踏上了改革开放的伟大征程。而今,30个春秋已然逝去,包括音乐教育在内的中国各项事业均取得了举世瞩目的成绩。经过广大音乐教育工作者的不懈努力,作为音乐教育重要组成部分之一的社会音乐教育,逐渐探索出了一条具有中国特色的发展道路,并取得了前所未有的成就。

I.The Major Approaches to Public Music Education in China Music education for the general public takes various forms and covers a wide range of the society.Amateur music training,music competitions,music gala shows,music publications,music exchanges as well as mass music activities in various forms are all effective means to undertake public music education.It is correct to say that public music education exists almost in all the events organized by cultural and educational institutions in the country.The major approaches are as follows:
