Roadside shelterbelt green land has important significance for environment improvement for metallurgical industries. This paper analyzes factors affecting the design of roadside shelterbelt plantings, and presents principles for construction of roadside shelterbelt plantings. Tree species and planting patterns suitable for roadside shelterbelt plantings in polluted areas were proposed.
