Some Yiddish scholars have been striving to repudiate the originality and authority of Isaac Bashevis Singer＇ s English version since he gained wide popularity outside of the Yiddish circles. This paper offers the justification for treating Singer as a bilingual writer on the basis of a general description of the dispute over Singer＇ s bilingual writing, the main points and absurdity of the Yiddish scholars, and Singer＇ s unique mode of bilingual writing.
