The experience of surgical treatment to 38 cases of hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage has been summed up. The operative mortality was 34.21 % Several important factors (the patients' condition before the operation, the location and volume of the hematoma, the displacement of middle structures of the brain, and age) which affected operative effects were discussed. Early diagnosis, early operation performed with attention, and active prevention and treatment of postoperative complications could raise the curative rate of operation.
