Abstract Regarding different arguments on the empirical calculation of wells interference in the textbooks,manuals and other reference books,in view of the basic meaning of wells interference and on the basis of approaches and studies,to a more reasonable formula is ascertained for calculating the coefficient α of decreasing water output with Q-S straight line in the calculation of wells interference.
