Pound believes that Confucianism is one, indivisible, a nature extending to every detail as the nature of being oak or maple extends to every part of the oak tree or maple. He considers Confucianism a universal principle manifest both in nature and in culture. He also follows Confucianism as a literary method in making his art, which he calls one-principle text. Pound＇s one-principle text, together with his ideogrammic method, embodies his innovation of translating his reading of Confucian philosophy into Confucian poetics.
