摘要
除了一般英语教学外,专业英语的教学与研究,已成为大学英语文教育不可或缺的一环。本研究采用西方学者Pilbeam(1979)的语言检视法(Linguistic Auditing)方法,亦即"需求分析"(Needs Analysis)法,以问卷调查与焦点群体访谈研究方法,针对ESP课程之供需双方分别搜集相关资料,并进行交叉比对与分析。研究发现,企业员工的一般英语与专业英语能力均低于大学商管学院学生;职场工作者的教育水平越高、职级越高、工作年资越深,其ESP能力较高;而且目前大学英语教育中存在着一般英语与专业英语教学成效落差很大的现象。
Besides English for General Purposes ( more and more significant role in college English EGP) , teaching and research of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) plays teaching. In this research, a cross -comparative analysis related to ESP teaching and demanding is carried out by .adopting Pilbeam's methodology of Linguistic Auditing, or Needs Analysis. Questionnaires and mass interview are conducted. The result shows that the ESP ability of a subject holds positive relationship to his/her education background, ranks and seniority. Enterprise staff has low level of EGP and ESP compared to business - majored students. Moreover, the gap between EGP and ESP in college English education deserves researchers' attention.
