This article, by analyzing the present situation of cultivating students＇ translation skill in college English teaching and by associating examples of teaching, exams the functions of translation and briefly talks about how to cultivate students＇ translation ability in college English teaching. Translation is one of the basic language skills, and is one of the most important parts of college English teaching. Putting well translation teaching into college English teaching not only can cultivate and train students＇ translation skill but also can improve the quality of teaching and learning, and improve students＇ ability of using English as a language instrument.
